It crashes my system with Jaws to the point I have to restart. I
can't make it read the save as dialog boxes, tables aren't read
propperly, and, . oh, the list goes on and on for me. With NVDA, it
just works. Know what I mean? From what I read, they're working on
implementing ia2accessibility into it gradually so that window eyes
and jaws will work with it out of the box but, can't get those two
vendors to meet themhalf way. With Jaws, about the only component of
it that works fairly decently for me was Writer the word processor
though it was a bit iffy. Calc, Math and Impress don't work well at
all with Jaws. Impress, sadly, doesn't seem to work wel with any
assistive tech just yet at least on Windows. I ahven't tried it on
Linux yet with Orca. I don'tknow if the database app works well with
Jaws because I haven't tried it yet. Franklym, it just looks likke
someone needs to write some scripts for Open Office and it should work
fine. Buttons are labeled, hotkeys work fine all across the board,
and there's even a setting on there that you can select that
configures the suite to work with assistive technologies. I can't
imagine why jaws hasn't been scripted to work with it yet other than
it's free and FS doesn't seem to think government entities (their
biggest clients) will want their patrons using it as much as Microsoft
Office or Corel. I'm slowly figuring out what I need to do with Jaws
to get it to sort of work and will script my own package as I learn
the language. If I feel confident that it will work well for
everyone, I'll post the .zip packaged settings file to openoffice.org
if they'l let me so other Jaws users can benefit from it. Don't know
when that'll be then since my plate's pretty full right now with work
and school. Slogging through c++ and don't want to try and learn
another language until I get a firm handle on that beast.

Sorry about the ramble,
Alex M
