Jaws 8 updates not always responding

Hi to all on list,
At times when I go to check for updates under help, I hear no message spoken,
not even the prompt telling me to "Please wait while Jaws checks for updates,
this may take several minutes." it just sits there or seems to. But when I read
dialog box using insert B, the message is there; it doesn't go away until I
push alt f4. Anyone else notice this; it happens mostly at night time I find.
