First of all, Given that you are attending a technology center for the
blind, one would have thought they would know how to fix this problem.

Make sure that the screen resolution is set to at least 800 x 600 pixels.
Better still, 1024 x 768 pixels.

You can find this option under Start Menu, Settings, Control Panel, Display,
Settings Tab.
