Hello folks.

I, too, am a long-time fan and user of SoundBlaster Live cards. However,
however, take care. When putting Jaws 6 on one of my computers the other
day, Eloquence made a rather obscene noise after each word or phrase,
reminding me of something best not discussed here. Try as I might, I was
unable to correct the problem. When calling tech support at FS, the first
thing they asked me was whether or not I was, per chance, running an older
SoundBlaster Live card. I confirmed that I was. They told me that
SoundBlaster was to have upgraded some of their drivers for that card but
hadn't, causing much misery for a lot of folks. I bought another
SoundBlaster, this time the audigy platinum, a lot more than I needed but
fantastic in quality. I still use SoundBlaster Live cards in most of my
machines and have no troubles at all. If you buy a new card, be sure you are
able to return it, not often the case with opened software, in the event you
experience what I and, according to FS, a lot of people do.

All the best.

Jerry
