I just might have a solution for your problem. If before you change
synthesizers to the DecTalk Express you disconnect the DecTalk from the USB
and reconnect it then change synths, it just might work. Mine did, but I
had to do this every time I wanted to use the DecTalk. who knows why?

serial DecTalk through a USB converter either.
