Hi, keep your sound blaster live it is a grate card for music now get a
cheep sound card I like the crystal sound card my self I can pcik these
cards up for real cheep. Put the crystal in and address jaws to this
card. It will go you about 12 to 15 bucks to pick up one of these
babies and will work for you just grait. If you do not like this idea
most sound cards under xp allow for multy instances. The sound blaster
line of cards are always a good choice. Hth

Hi,
I run JFW 5.1, XP Home via Eloquence on a soundblaster Live Card. The
Card
is now very very old and is making loud explosive popping and crackling
sounds, particularly when trying to read a fully loaded buffer of text
that
is unpunctuated.
I've tried many many times to get the correct update drivers for the
Soundblaster, but with no success at all. Even the Techy at the local
Screwdriver Shop has had no success.
So, I'm contemplating getting a new and better sound card, but I'm aware
there's some issue with JAW's and sound cards that's to do with the
number
of channels. That is, to hear both JAWS Eloquence voice and other
system
sounds or music.
Is there any advice out there on what's a good high quality Card, that
maybe
gives surround sound etc, but still happily works with JAW's Eloquence
voice?
