Hi Chris,

Yes, I believe it's rated for longer than 8 hours even, as long as
you're only listening via the headset, and not transmitting via the
microphone. I think with using the mike it is just around 8 hours.

The headset is amazingly small and light-weight. The earpieces are
normal sized, and there's no hint they contain electronics and a
battery!

One thing you should note is that no bluetooth headset transmits a good
enough quality voice via it's mike to do speech recognition with. This
was a big disappointment to me. If you need to use a wireless headset
and speech recognition, you'll need to buy a special headset, with it's
own receiver module which plugs into the pc, and costs around $150, and
definitely is not suited to use with a laptop.

One advantage I did not mention is that this headset is capable of
connecting with both a pc and a cell phone at the same time, and
allowing you to switch between them if you get or make a call. Many
people find this feature the reason they bought the headset (but I don't
use a cell much at all, so I've not tested it).

When you do use the mike to transmit, it uses one of the 2 channels
available, so your audio signal becomes mono (this is apparently part of
the bluetooth standard), so you cannot have stereo sound if you're
transmiting back to your computer for say voice chat or Skype.

hth,

Chip

I'm going to copy the list on this, in case this extra information is
useful to others.
