Hello once again: Oops, as I smack my forehead for my dorkiness, I got my keystrokes mixed up on my first submission to this list. Yes, I have been using the keystroke of Alt + F4 to close internet explorer and not Control + F4 and yet the results are the same, an error message as heard below. Sorry for the screw up. Cheerio, Dennis ******************************* instead of doing control f 4 do alt f 4 to exit out of internet explorer. ----- Original Message ----- From: Dennis Kicz To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, September 11, 2005 12:46 PM Subject: Internet explorer error message conundrum Greetings everyone: I recently, in the past month, had my hard drive reformatted, and since that point in time when ever I visit a site on the internet and then close internet explorer via the keystroke of Control + F4 the following error message appears on my computer monitor: --------------------------- iexplore.exe - Application Error --------------------------- The instruction at "0x01761e10" referenced memory at "0x0107f238". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program --------------------------- OK --------------------------- After this error message appears all windows lose focus and I have to either press Escape or hit the "Okay" button found in the enclosed error message to get rid of this error window. With all of the above in mind, are there any idea's/theories out there that might explain what may be causing this error message. I am using a Windows XP Home operating system and am currently running JAWS Version 6.0. As well the technical details about my computer are that it is a 120 GB Maxtor hard drive with 1 GB of Ram using a 2.4 GHZ processor. Also, in case it may creep into anyone's mind this error message happened prior to my having my hard drive reformatted and I was using JAWS Version 6.1 at the time. Thanks a bunch, Dennis
