Hello Wanda Peterson,

Just wondering, did you ever live in a small town in Maine called Calais, which
is right on the boarder
with St. Stephen, Canada? Look forward to hearing from you to see if you have
lived there.

Warmest regards,

Hank Merchant

It should. There are actually a couple of other things you can do especially
if you have a Braille display. This is the best one, though, if you want to be
able to have speech when you choose to.

Thank you, Wanda, I'll try it. Will this work in other applications where
I want to silence Jaws?

      Hi katherine,

When you get to where it starts talking on and on, press Insert+S
repeatedly until you hear JAWS say "none". This will set your screen echo to
none. JAWS won't speak unless you use a reading command to have something
specific read to you. When you're done, press insert+S again repeatedly until
JAWS says "highlighted". This should make JAWS speak normally again. Hope
this helps.

I did, and it would continue to say the same thing over and over again.

Just tap the Control key to shut Jaws up

          Cheers

I should have mentioned that I am using Jaws 6.2 and Windows XP.
