Fanthom speech in Outlook Express

When I listen to an Email that has just been composed with Outlook Express,
I now hear the letter "r" being spoken very systematically down the page. I
dot think it is printing at all, but it is annoying. Is there any way I can
stop this?

Also, when I go back to proofread a composed message in Outlook Express 6,
using XP Home, there are segments, usually near the top, I think, where I
only hear "blank" and what is typed cannot be heard or read. Is there any
way I can stop this also from happening. I remember something about a
Preview Pane, but not sure this is the real problem.

Your suggestions are always greatly appreciated.
