I actually didn't think of the dictionary manager. This will have a side
effect that if "enter text here" is sent or received in a message JAWS will not
announce it. So I was just thinking about how JAWS normally handles control
types.

Good. Once again, empiricism trounces theory.

Hmmm. Odd. It did for me. Now all jaws says is edit, just the way I want it
to.

But Roy just pointed out this won't work for this particular verbalization.

    1. open aim
    2. press insert+f2
    3. select dictionary manager
    4. press enter to accept the new file name
You now have a dictionary file for aim.

    Samara,

One simple way would be to edit/create a dictionary file for AIM and put in
Enter Text Here to the actual word field, and then a blank single space in the
replacement word field.

You could also add a simple sound, as well, if you still want some sort of
audible clue.

Hi, when I'm typing a message in aim, when I want to read it back while
it's still in the typing window, jaws always says Enter text here before
actually reading the text. Does anyone know how to turn that particular
information off?
