Editing email addresses in Microsoft Outlook 2003 contacts

Hi all,
how do I edit an e-mail address that I have entered into the Microsoft
Outlook 2003 contacts I can get to the field where I have typed the e-mail
address but, when I use the left and right arrow keys, jaws does not read
the particular e-mail address. It just reads a <.
