Just a couple of suggestions:

1. Have you got the latest video drivers.
2. Have you tried changing the screen resolution.
3. Have you tried changing the Microsoft Word shortcut to run
Microsoft Word maximised?
4. Have you tried changing the display colour settings?
5. Is it a MS-Windows XP machine, if so, there are some guidelines
from HJ on about how to set all the display properties. I can send you
these if you need them.

I hope that this is of some help,

Steve.

One of our users at the BBC is having a problem with Jaws reading text
from the previously opened window behind the current window. So, for
example, running word and getting to the open document window, jaws
sometimes still 'sees' the desk top icons and their text when you
cursor
around that window.=20

Doing a refresh seems to help, and the display setting look normal,
any
thoughts gratefully accepted.
