I have an Inspiron 8500 and I also love the keyboard. No problems with JFW.
I do use the Nvidia GeForce4 4200Go video card. Be careful, because the
default video with the 8600 may be the ATI card. Just make sure it is going
to work.

I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 600M and I absolutely love it. It has
a decently sized keyboard that feels good to the touch, and I had absolutely
no trouble installing or using JAWS 5 on the system. Ask Dell if the
keyboard on the 8600 is the same or similar to the one on the 600M.
