Then, select programs. You can use the letter "P."Open the tree's branch (You can use right arrow).Arrow to accessories, and then work your way down to Notepad. I cannot remember whether there is another submenu to work your way through. Then right click or hit the applications key (same as shift plus F-10). Arrow down to send to desktop (Create Shortcut). Hit ENTER, and you should have an Icon. After that, follow the steps that I, and others, have outlined. -----Original Message-----From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ann Marie MedlarSent: Tuesday, October 19, 2010 10:13 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Hotkeys Hi, Do you know how to create a hot key if there is no icon on desktop? For example, I would like to create alt control+n for Notepad. Usually when aprogram is installed it makes a shortcut to your desktop. I'm going to assume you have an icon and program title on your desktop. So presswindows key plus d to go to the desktop, type the first few letters of the name of the program and when you hear Jaws say it, press alt + enter whichshould get you to the properties dialog box. Press alt + k. You should hear Jaws say shortcut key. Press a singleletter of the alphabet for what you want to be the hot key, I think someother characters on the keyboard are also usable. Tab down to OK and press enter. The result should be you can launch the program now by pressing ctrl + alt+ your single letter. Some of these letters may have already been taken by other programs soit's best to test before starting this whole process - just try ctrl + alt + your desired letter to see if it happens to launch some other program onyour computer. When in the shortcut key part of the dialog box, just type the letter, notctrl + alt + letter. The computer fills in the rest. Michael At 10:11 AM 10/19/2010, you wrote:Hello,I was wondering if there was any way to create your own Hotkeys?
