Or if you use Thunderbird, they have an extension that can search for 
duplicates and get rid of them.

If you are using Outlook this is a common problem. The way I do it is to make sure that you have read the mail. Then go into the search folders. Open up the "unread mail" then select all and delete. The copy you have already read will still be in your "inbox". Roy
