Hi, I've just told Vista to automatically log on to my account, so we'll see what happens. Thanks for telling us we can do it under Vista.

Hello Ray. To change the underlying name of the account instead of changing the display name only you need to open run and type the following without the quotes of course "control userpasswords2", this will open a dialog box where you will be presented with a list of usernames. Next you need to select the name of the user that you want to change, press the properties button, you will land on the general page focused on the edit field where you can type over the name that is there. After you make your changes you need to press apply and then you need to press the OK button all the way out of the dialog boxes. This solution should work both under Windows XP and Windows Vista. I hope this helps. -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ray Campbell Sent: Wednesday, March 12, 2008 10:24 AM To: VICUG-L@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx; jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Can't Get JFW to Read New Account Name Hello All: I have a question. When you change the name on a user account, how do you get JFW Version 8 to read the new name? Here's what happened. We had a computer on loan to one individual. It was returned and we loaned it to another client. Before doing so, as part of cleaning up and checking the system, we changed the name on the limited user account we set up. Here's what happens. When JAWS comes up on the Windows Logon screen, when you arrow down, it reads out the old account name even though the new account name is displayed. I checked the user account stuff to be sure everything is right and it is set with the new name. Can anyone tell me what is going on and how to fix this?
