CD copying probs

Any help appreciated.
Using xp home.
Just want to back up some data to cd.
Did it before, but, now, getting some prog called "int cd" and don't know how I
got it.
I formatted a new disk in this format, but, now windows says disk is full,
though 0 items, of course, in the list view.
