There's a plug-in for Firefox that will OCR the images, you can get it from

http://webvisum.com/

It could do with a little better stability (the menu items have a
tendency to disappear if your browser session has been going for
awhile and you have to close out Firefox and restart to get them to
come back), but it does the job.
