Dave, "JFW 9.0 just sucks!" I've had some of the same sentiments, but for other reasons. I have gone back to JAWS 8 because the "benefits" of JAWS 9 just seem to be minor, compared to its flaws. All the symptoms reported today on the list are the same as mine. JFW 9.0 just sucks! I've looked for a fix in the knowledge base, but nothing. I think that JAWS 9 is now operating on Office 2003 an d2007, and they have left 2002 behind. See if that's a possible problem. Yet again, they make it more complex and it falls down on the basics! Please, please FS just get the basics right because I really don't want to consider Window Eye's! To circumvent the issue at hand, I've learned to do one (or several) of the following: Firstly, maximize by Alt/space bar and hitting X. Secondly, Turning off JAWS by Insert/F4, then turning it on again by Control/Alt/J. Thirdly, when typing in a Microsoft Word document, I found that sometimes the arrow keys just didn't work to review what was written. The other day this happened when a sighted person was present. They related the cursor was way off to the right of the screen in the white area. I simply hit Home or the number 7 (Home) on the Num Pad to return the cursor to the text. Why it decides to leave the field of the text, I haven't a clue, but I think perhaps it is a problem FS has to address. I'm working in Microsoft Word 2002. This is only one of many problems experienced, the major being the lethargy of JAWS after the computer is on for several hours. To date, I have received no solution for this aggrevating problem. It needs to be re-booted in order for it to read the edit area once more? Thanks, Dave Blind Site - Accessing the world!
