Are you talking about the linux X-windows which is a graphical interface 
running on top of the linux console?  If so that question would be best 
answered by the gnome accessibility list.  There are two that I know of 
orca, and gnopernicus and some support also exist in emacspeak.  If this 
line of topics isn't at all what you are talking about, please explain.

Does jfw work with Active X windows. If not do you know of a screen reader 

that does work with it.
