Good evening Ben,

The XP start menu can contain a list of Recently opened documents. I do not like this myself and turn it off.

Turning off recent documents on XP Start menu:

1. Press Windows key to bring up the start menu.

2. Press escape (the focus should now be on the start button)

3. Press the Applications key and select Properties.

4. Select the Start Menu tab and then the Customize button.

5. Select the Advanced tab.

6. Tab to the Recent Documents checkbox and uncheck it

HTH,
Everett

Subject: A question about the XP start menu

Hello everyone and happy new year:

A friend of mine is finally seeing the light and moving over to the XP start menu. One bizarre thing that he's seeing is that whenever he opens a program, it's pinned to his start menu until he goes up with the aps key and says remove from this list. Would anyone know the deal? The other thing is that every so often Jaws 9 states his build of XP Pro, which is strange.

Thanks,

Ben
