Don't know the setup. However, if it's normal pop/smtp, the firewall tipically
should allow incomming through 25 and outgoing through 110. Those are port
numbers. The firewall should allow the email program. When you connect or
attempt to connect with the email program nortin will tell you to allow or block
and give you a checkbox to always perform the same action. Make sure the
settings in the email program for incomming/outgoing messages, server names, any
other authentication match those required by the provider of that email account.

Subject: A problem with a firewall.

I have a friend that is having a problem with his e-mails, ever since he put in
a Norton firewall he can't receive or send out any messages.
Can someone please let me know what to tell him to correct his problem?

Thanks in advance.
PEACE
John Carvalho
