Hello:
It's very simple but could cost you a lot of money if you want a good quality
recording. First, you have to find a program that will let you record files
from a sound card to your PC. You can't use Sound Recorder because it only
records about a minute.
You should probably connect your tape recorder to a line in port. (I can give
you more details off-list). I'd then recommend a noise reduction program.
Sonic Foundry's noise reduction does the trick beautifully.

  Subject: A couple of questions.

I sent this message yesterday afternoon, but didn't see it come through,
  but it didn't get bounced.
I want to start a project, turning some of my old cassettes and tapes into
digital files before they die. Never having explored these avenues, I
wonder if someone could tell me what the best software out there is per
  Jaws accessibility?

Same goes for hard-drive backup. Any suggestions as to software
accessibility with Jaws 5.0 in that area?

Thanks in advance and apologies if this topic has been brought up.
