This presentation will clarify the vocabulary component in the revised Curriculum, and make some practical suggestions as to how teachers can implement it effectively without adding to their teaching load. Our lecturer will be Prof. Penny Ur, the renowned ELT expert, author, and teacher trainer In the first hour, Penny will look at: · some of the key research findings with practical implications for the teaching of vocabulary · the vocabulary component in the revised curriculum: what it is, how it came about, and how to implement it. In the second hour Penny will explain some practical principles and demonstrate actual activities for vocabulary expansion and practice.
