Stuart, I'm not sure that JAWS is quite the right tool for this sort of thing. Firstly, with Keyboard manager and no additional scripting, the only keys you would be able to remap are those which command JAWS itself. The letters would be unaffected unless you brought some script into play, and changing the state of half the keyboard on press (or holding, I'm not sure which you're aiming for) of the space bar would be a scripting challenge for many here, I'd imagine. Is there any particular reason why you want to use JAWS to process your alternate layout? I haven't looked into layouts especially, but surely there must be some software out there designed explicitly for this purpose? I Want to create a new keyboard layout using Jaws to simulate the half-qwerty Keyboard. This allows someone to use one hand on a normal qwerty keyboard by keeping one hand on the home row and then accessing the other half of the keyboard by pressing the space bar to mirror image the other half of the keyboard. Would this be possible by just using the keyboard manager or would scripting have to be used? I would be grateful for any help or advice as it would help me a great deal and maybe some others Thanks __________ Visit and contribute to The JAWS Script Repository http://jawsscripts.com View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/jawsscripts __________ Visit and contribute to The JAWS Script Repository http://jawsscripts.com View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/jawsscripts
