Dear DC,

You are *supposed* to be able to get the skim reader to read only text in a
certain colour or with a particular colour as background but I have not been
able to get it to work.

The first problem is that when setting it up the Skim reader provides about
500 different colours to choose from without reference to RBG numbers. This
means that unless you can find a conversion table (which I haven't been able
to) matching the colour names with specific numbers it is extremely
difficult to be sure you have selected the right colour using the insert+5
keystroke. I noticed somebody said that the numbers generated by Jaws for
the screen colours were inaccurate anyway

The second problem is that it doesn't seem to work anyway. I tried changing
text to black on black to make sure the correct colour was selected and then
selected black to be read in the set up dialogue but the text was not read.

If anyone has managed to get this feature of the Skim Reading Tool to work I
would be delighted to know how as it would be extremely useful in my work.
FS don't seem interested.

Best wishes

Robert Portal
