Hi Francis, There are a number of zip and unzip utilities including Winzip. These usually make themselves the default option for dealing with zipped files. There is also a number of different zip formats and not all of the zip utilities will deal with all of the formats. There is, however, a utility for most types of zip format built in to the XP system. If you have installed Winzip, Winra or some other zip utility, it is likely that this will be invoked when you press enter on a zipped file. If, however, you wish to try using the XP built-in utility, select the zip file and press the applications key which is the key to the left of the right control key on a standard keyboard. Cursor down to "extract all" and press enter. This invokes the XP unzip wizard. You will be taken through a set of pages giving you the opportunity of specifying the folder where you want the files to be extracted etc. HTH, Phil Medway philmedway@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx tel: 01869 347639 mobile: 07980 519990 Skype: philmedway ----- Original Message ----- From: "francis" <francisrwama@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, August 18, 2006 9:25 AM Subject: [jaws-uk] winzip or xp winzip? hi there can anyone tell me how to activate the xp WinZip I also have the other WinZip, but I hear they are not compatible visit my website www.francisrwama.com ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq -- This email has been verified as Virus free Virus Protection and more available at http://www.plus.net ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
