Hi Jim, and indeed all members,

Glad your problem is now fixed.

For everyone's information, Jim's problem was that his
messages to the list were being blocked. The reason for
this was that one of the many Server IP addresses used by
Virgin, (Jim's ISP) had been reported as being responsible
for sending out large amounts of spam. Unfortunately for
Jim, his mail went through that same server IP address.

Some ISPs who host lists such as this one, including
Freelists, who have been bombarded with non-member spam
messages, have subscribed to an International blacklist of
IP addresses known to be responsible for high volumes of
spam.

Of course the solution lies closer to home, so to speak.
ISP's themselves should monitor their own subscribers, and
deal appropriately with any who are sending large volumes of
unsolicited mail, routing them via a server which is not
used by "Jo Public".

Sorry if this sound rather technical, but it is all part of
the fight against unwanted, unsolicited spam mail.

George.
