Hi, I am looking for advice on finding a decent ocr software. I use
K1000 and I have recently been testing the latest from FineReader
(which incidentally is what K1000 is built around) and in all honesty
I haven't noticed any visible difference between the two versions (9
and 14) and neither seems equipped to handle even reasonable quality
print. Omnipage gets praise for speed accuracy etc but I don't
believe there is a demo version for people to try, and the commercial
versions aren't cheap.
maybe it's my scanner that is the problem. does the list recommend a
particular make and or model
suitable for ocr? mine is a Canon LiDE120.
