Thank you to everyone who has helped in answering my question about using bold writing and centring texts. Adrian Rowe ----- Original Message ----- From: alex thynne To: jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, June 13, 2008 9:24 AM Subject: [jaws-uk] Re: centring text Hi Adrian I can probably do both. To centre something, type control plus e. Remember to do control plus l to go back to aligned left for the next line if that is what you want. The bold command is a switch really, if you do control plus b, jaws should say bold on. To turn it off again, do control plus b once again and jaws will say bold off. A couple of extra ones for you, control plus r for right aligned. Control plus j for justified, and you can also do control plus 2 for double spacing. Control plus 1 puts you back into single spacing and if you really want to do this, you can also use control plus 5 for one and a half line spacing. All these commands work in Word 2000, whether they work in the latest flavour of the program I don't know but they certainly do in office 2003. One final thing to say, make sure you check your formatting with insert plus f. You will hear all the information you should normally need. If you change your mind on the layout of a document, you need to highlight the area you want to change before you execute the command, otherwise you will only change the character you are highlighting, so you need to remember what you are doing carefully. Braille displays are wonderful for looking at documents as you can see the areas you have underlined, made bold etc. I've probably told you too much now, but it's better to have too much information than too little. Hope the articles you intend to write are successful and achieve what you want. I need to write an article for our local magazine, and I am not sure how to go about either centring text, or write certain passages in bold writing in a word document. Please, can someone tell me how to go about carrying out this process? Thank You In Participation, Adrian Rowe Email address: adrian.rowe5@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx You can also contact me on Skype.
