Dear All,

Thanks for expressing an interest in the project. Further to my last email, I
thought I'd explain a little bit more about our project and why we need
volunteers. We are a research team based at Queen's University in Belfast,
examining blind and visually-impaired users' experiences with the Internet, to
see if we can make the Internet more accessible. We are hoping to use a
greater range of audio (non-speech sounds) and haptics (sense of touch) to do
this. The project is supported by the Eduserv foundation and further details
are available at www.web4blind.org. Our team of five comprise of a combination
of PhD students and research supervisors, with backgrounds in audio and
haptics. Dr Wai Yu has previously worked at the University of Glasgow on the
Multivis project, making graphs accessible for blind and visually-impaired
users.

It would be great if we could speak with more of the people on the JAWS list,
to gain an insight into the barriers which blind and visually-impaired
individuals face when interacting with the Internet. If you are interested,
please do contact us and we can arrange a time that suits you. Email on
web4blind@xxxxxxxxx

Thanks,
Ravi
