Hi Tom,
I get exactly the same problem. Two or three years back, one of the
university techies downloaded some sort of a fix, but I lost it next time I
updated Jaws. Seemingly, you can't solve the problem from within Jaws
because it simply tells you to set the volume with the normal system
controls, which simply make the start-up even louder, waking up both your
own household and next door as well.

Good luck

Colin

At windows log on, jaws gets very loud. As soon as I press any key once at
the desk top, the volume drops way down.
Any explanation or thoughts on how to sort this out?

Tom
