Ottawa Canada Dear Dorothy and list: Your automatic spell checking of newly loaded documents appears to be an MS Word problem. The Word list if there is one, would have more expertise in these matters than JAWS-UK does. You obviously have something starting up the Spell Checker of mS Word. Generally the Spell Checker has an option to exit it, usually called close which exits the Spell Checker. If you look around in the options screens of the Tools Menu, you will probably find an option somewhere to turn off automatic Spell Checking of freshly loaded documents. While you are in the options screens you may wish to make other changes. Do make notes as to what you have changed and only make a few changes at a time before you try the program to see what you think of your changes. The options screens have many tabs, press control plus tab to proceed to the next tab. Happy configuring. Brian Brian K.
