Robert,

I'm afraid so if you don't want to finalise the CD at this stage.

Do you know that you can finalise the CD so that it can be recorded to again
at a later stage as well as finalising it as an unrecordable disc?

As I said in my earlier message, this is probably well off topic though and
we would probably be best to discuss the issue off list.

Glad that you know what's going on now anyway.

Cheers,

Jamie

Dear Jamie,

You're a genius. Unfortunately I don't want to finalise the CD at the
moment so it looks as though I'm stuck with it being uncopiable on the
computer.

Many thanks,=20

Robert

Robert,

Although this is not strictly a Jaws issue, I wonder if you have
finalised=20
the CD that you recorded in the Plextalk before trying to copy the
files?

If not, the CD will simply not be recognised by any other device than
the=20
Plextalk itself.

In general copying DAISY files is just the same as copying any other
files.

Dear Phil,

I have Nero 6 and will try fiddling with the read options as you
suggest. Thanks as always for the helpful suggestions.

Another point - do the free daisy readers (referred to by Adrian in
another post) also have a copying function?

Best wishes

Hi Robert,

I use Nero 5 which is now quite old but I suspect that basic things
won't=3D20 have changed that much.

If you are using CD copy, there are options in the read options tab to
force=3D20 raw reading for data mode 1 and data mode2 tracks.

This might be worth a try for the type of copy you wish to take. I
should=3D20 add that I haven't tried copying daisy material.

HTH,

I've been trying to copy files created in Daisy format on a Plextalk
recorder onto a blank CD but when I try to do this through the
programmes I normally use for copying (Nero and Clone CD) they see the
CD I am trying to copy as empty and so of course, the copying routine is
aborted.

I should add that probably the simplest solution (but not perhaps the
cheapest) is to buy a memory card for the Plextalk and use its own
back-up routine.

Any clues as to how to go about this type of copying without using
aPlextalk memory card would be gratefully received. If the solution
avoids spending money I would be doubly grateful.

Many thanks and best wishes
