Hi Sue,
Don't know if this applies to other OS other than XP...
Go to Control Panel, Taskbar and Start Menu Properties. Click the Customise
Button on the Start Menu page. In there, couple of taps down, you can
control how many programs appear on the Start Menu.
Hope that does what you want.
