Vanja, Thanks for this. At least I don't have to sweat about any conflict issues. I'm sure I have never muted youtube but will check it out. The only other thing I can think of that perhaps you accidently muted YouTube. I won't give the full history of this but will start from Saturday. For many months now, since around the time IE8 arrived, I've had trouble with youtube. For the most part it didn't work. A computer boffin came on Saturday and seemed to put things right. What appeared to be IE8, as shown by an icon, was actually showing IE7 in the About field in IE. He put that right. He then updated Adobe flash. Tried youtube which worked perfectly. Had a great time with youtube Sunday morning but when I shut down I was invited to install updates, security I presume. Later that day youtube did not work again. It hasn't worked since. I've tried all sorts of things even taking the updates out, but nothing. A friend of mine is also using XP but Jaws 9 and Adobe flash 9. He's having no trouble. BTW, I'm using Adobe flash 10. The main question for the group is: is there anybody successfully using Jaws 11, XP, Adobe flash 10 and IE8? I will be getting my boffin friend back today if possible. Kindest regards David
