Hi Jane. Firefox is a browser, not a firewall, and I think you need Jaws 7
for that.
Sygate firewall was recommended to me, and I have installed it. It is a
complete pain when you first start it as it objects to everything you try to
do... but that's its job. It still objects spuriously to stuff and I've set
it to allow all, and rely on the built-in XP firewall.
You don't have XP so give it a try. I think Mark Matthews, on this list, is
the expert with Sygate. (sorry Mark if that's wrong.)

Is there anyone who can tell me if Firefox is compatible with Jaws 6.0 and
also are there any other firewalls that don't cost much or are there any

I using ME and Jaws 6.0 and I have just set up on broadband so I need to
know what firewalls are suitable please? any help will be appreciated.
