Hi Mark & Robin,
I would seriously check out Sage first. I have their latest
offering (Sage 2007) and it has caused no end of grief
nationally. Indeed it was so bad that Sage had to withdraw
it from sale while they sorted out some seriously major
bugs.
Even now, after 4 updates and numerous minor fixes, it is
still severely lacking in many areas, not least of all plain
speed of simple things like printing. Believe it or not, it
takes us over a minute to print just one order or invoice.

I use Sage quite successfully with Jaws and a Braille
display and don't have
any specialist scripts written.
I think it really depends on what kind of accounting your
looking at doing,
business or personal and what type of accounts you have to
produce.
