If you'd like just one program to deal with that provides a
firewall, scans for and deletes spyware and viruses and even
looks for SPAM then try:
AVG Internet Security Pro. It is US $90 for a two year license
for up to three computers if you buy the home edition and I
personally think it is a pretty good deal.
Unlike Free AVG, you can set what time of day it looks for
updates and scans your PC. You can also have it check hourly for
updates if you wish. Nothing like beating a new virus or spyware
to the punch!
You will have to use your JAWS cursor and left mouse button to
use some of the lesser used functions, like change the time
scheduled tasks run, how often it checks for updates etc., but
generally once you set these, you just save the settings and
forget about them.
Each of the components, firewall, spyware, virus and SPAM
scanning, may be selected or disabled upon installation or at a
later time.
I presently run JAWS 8.0.
