I have tried this on my Aria which has the same "innards" as your Iyonix and have no problems playing the sample back in stereo. I take it you have tried feeding the Audio out to your amplifier. I believe there is only a single speaker in the Iyonix/Aria and is simply there to monitor things like the beep. Bear in mind what Roger has said about a bug in the ADC sound chip that degrades sampling at 44.1kHz. It is such a shame that Castle Technology used a poor quality sound processor as it makes sampling a waste of time - as a reminder I've just recorded some classic music from a DAB radio and how horrible it sounds - there is a nasty tinny sound in the upper sound register and annoying clicks. 48kHz is better but the clicks are still there. Does anyone know if any progress has been made on the PCI audio card.
