I was once involved with a very expensive mainframe computer, that had
duplexed everything (cpu, memory, discs, disc controllers, network
controllers, UPS, etc) so it would never go down ... until there was a
fire in the switch (a bloody large one!) which enabled either UPS to be
switched to either CPU ... ooops!

The Directors had to be informed before it had been down for 15 minutes...
