I hope this is enough of an Iyonix matter not to be rejected! This morning I was switched from ADSL2+ to Cable (FTTC) which has done wonders for speed: up from 1.8Mbps to 37.0Mbps :) However, this entailed a new router which has a fixed IP of 192.168.1.254 , a different series to my setup to now (was 192.168.0.xx) so having changed both network printers to the new series, and also the Iyonix internet settings, all is working again . . . with the exception of the link between Laptop (wirelessly) and iyonix (hard-wired). Samba is no longer being recognised by Windows7. I have changed the "interfaces" entry in its 'Global Variables' page to 192.168.1.3/255.255.255.0 , and have rebooted both computers. Both happily access the internet and the printers. I altered and re-saved a "Hosts" file to Windows/System32 to reflect the changed series. I can 'ping' each computer from the other. But the "Network" on Windows7 shows only the laptop, and as far as I can see the only options for adding to the network there are to add a printer or a wireless device. Any suggestions of how to get Win7 to recognise Samba again, please?
