Nothing is/was unplugged. I checked that after finding other posts about
5.18 problems.

HID is running on this machine, I seem to remember that Samba might be a
problem too.

Hmm. I remember using an fx command when I had a corrupted CMOS RAM
that a delete power on would not cure. The email from Bernard V looks
like it contains the relevent command.
