This from a member of our local SMBTN chapter and fellow MVP. If you are looking for this type of developer, look no further. Tell Martin I sent you. Shoemaker' Subject: C# MVP looking for new opportunities Greetings! I'm reaching out to my friends, and to software developers I have met through work or through user groups and conferences. My apologies if I'm wasting your time, but I'm hoping to find some .NET work. My current contract through Stout Systems will complete its first phase in mid-February. This job is good work; but it doesn't give me much opportunity to use my .NET or UML or Tablet PC skills, so I'm looking to make a change. I've already let John Stout know I'll be looking for new opportunities; but I figure it can't hurt to network. I realize that some of you aren't very involved in the hiring world or even in the tech world, but I figure a wide net will catch more leads. You might know somebody who's looking, and whom I might never find on my own. For those who don't know the details, I am: * An expert C# developer, and a Microsoft MVP for Visual Development with C#. (If you're not familiar with the MVP program, see here: https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx. My MVP listing can be found here: https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile=46F40C20-A645-44DE-BBE6-AAB40BD510 9D.) * An expert Tablet PC developer. Microsoft offers developer training for enterprise customers planning to build and deploy Tablet PC applications. I wrote and taught that Tablet PC developer course for them. I've also had a Tablet PC product for sale for three years, and another ready for release soon. * An experienced developer of 22 years now, with an emphasis on analysis and design. * An expert designer and design architect, with a particular emphasis on UML. I have been working with UML and related tools and processes for ten years. * An accomplished conference speaker, having spoken to 23 developer conferences and 40 developer user groups in the past decade. I'm also an International .NET Association (INETA) speaker. INETA's goal is to send top-notch .NET developers and speakers to user groups around the world to help spread .NET development knowledge. You can learn more about INETA here: http://www.ineta.org <http://www.ineta.org/> . * An author, including: my first book, UML Applied: A .NET Perspective; my upcoming second book, Requirements Patterns and Antipatterns; and a forthcoming article in MSDN magazine. * An experienced trainer, having written and taught classes on UML analysis and design, .NET development, and Tablet PC development. As I said above, this current contract will be fulfilled in mid-February, with options to continue from there. Because I feel an obligation to John Stout, I plan to work through that date, and cannot consider any offers that would start before Feb. 23. I would prefer to work in the West Michigan area, though I'm an experienced traveler and can handle jobs with travel requirements. While I will consider other areas (I certainly have before), that would naturally have to include a higher rate for travel and living expenses. My preference will be given to .NET work in West Michigan. The ideal would be Tablet PC work in West Michigan. If you know someone who's looking for .NET people, please feel free to forward this message. You can find an updated version of my resume here: http://www.inkonsoftware.com/MLSRes.doc.
