Per your request:
p. 662 states in the "Note" that TCP-53 is required for Exchange and IIS SMTP 
services to send to the Internet.  This is because they use that for MX record 
lookups.
I have personally verified this with packet traces.  IIS and Exchange SMTP do 
indeed use TCP-53 as well as UDP-53 to perform MX record lookups.

   I had ISA working with Exchange 2000 just fine, and now, incoming mail is 
working, but out-going is not. Any suggestions on where to look first to 
troubleshoot? We did run the mail wizard, and after that all was working. I am 
not sure what we changed to tie things up.

  I have Toms book, so if there are specific pages to reference me to, that 
would be great.
