        Hello all,

Besides GFI, anyone know where I can find GFI Mail Essential
(ME) newsgroup? My problem deals with licensening. ME installed in AD
mode counts all accounts with the mail attribute filled on the ADUC
General page for the user account. ME searches the AD via LDAP with the
following: (extracted from usercntad.txt located in the
gfi\mailessentials\debuglogs folder.

        2003-09-23,13:07:29,014,1,"#00000478","#00000484","info
","USERCNTAD","Searching using LDAP filter string:
(&(objectClass=user)(objectCategory=person)(mail=*))"

GFIUSA tech support yielded the answer "ME works as designed".
Yeah, but it counting the wrong item. One good thing about this design
is that it does not count child AD domain users.

I believe (msExchmailboxGuid) would be a better search attribute
than (mail) -- am I wrong? (mail) attribute counts systemmailboxes, and
users without mailboxes.

        TIA

        Have fun!

        greg
