Hello,

 I am not sure if you checked/found this out already but;

If they were using McAfee VS 8.0i, then it was more than likely the
'Access Protection' module (section). By default there is an option
turned on (check box) that they call 'Prevent mass mailing worms from
sending mail' and it blocks port 25. This can be found in the McAfee
'virusscan console' . Just uncheck the box and you should be on your
way.

I know that doesn't answer you question about exclusions, but I thought
id share that for future installs.

Hope this helps,

Paul

Hey guys

I'm looking for some doc (not Tom) or the definitive list of what not to
virus scan on and iSA server. Recently had a client who had mcafee
corporate on the machine and wasnt able to receive mail... ie the
connection would close before it was fully completed. The server had the
ISA Server folder and the cache as part of the scanning exceptions. The
only thing in the logs was failed with error code, or failure code in
this case 0x80072745 which gives me nothing..

I was able to fix the problem by removing mcafee and taking other
options, but i still dont know why it was failing.

Thanks

Greg Mulholland
