Eddie, While this really is off topic (it's more a VPN question than an ISA question)...... We need more info on the database apps you're running and what you've done to try and track down the problem... Is an Oracle/MS SQL type database or a MS Access type database? If it's MS Access based, and you're running queries on databases located on a remote file server, you need to remember that Access does all query processing / report generation on the client side. The client needs to access all the records in the database which can take awhile on a slow link... I've found that with things that require a lot of two way communication (Access queries, Synching Outlook to an Exchange server, etc), network latency over the VPN connection often times has much more to do with apparent slowness than the actual speed of the connection... This is also something to consider..... Joe Pochedley "I like deadlines," cartoonist Scott Adams once said. ISA Enterprise install as firewall and during day time have around 80 firewall sessions and 60 web session, and everything seems to work fine from inside out. Coming from outside the firewall with vpn, my client outlook (on win2k) works fine. Their web browsing works fine. Their generic network connection works fine (connecting to a network drive, working with MS Office and saving files through vpn to the server) Working with some other databases application is un-predictable. Sometimes, 50% of the time works fine but the other 50% of the time will be so un-reasonably slow that even refreshing a screen takes more than a minute. But at the same time, Outlook and other web activities will be performing as usual. Any clue?? ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: JoePochedley@xxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub')
