Strategy for Installing ISA

I'm interested in seeing how other people have installed ISA. Microsoft
recommends installing ISA in an array configuration even if you have a
single ISA server. In order to have ISA in an array, the machine onto
which ISA is installed has to be a member server in the domain. What
strategy would you use to install ISA in an array without risking attack
on your internal network? A description of the strategy and diagram
would be great. Thanks.
